Last week I was asked by Amy Fenton Lee, founder of The Inclusive Church, to guest post on her blog.
(Just so you know - Amy does a fantastic job providing information and resources for special needs inclusion. Check out this post "The Premise of The Inclusive Church Blog" for more information.)
My initial response: no way.
Not because I wasn’t thrilled at the idea of writing for Amy. Because I was.
But I haven’t written anything “formal” since my high school paper. And that was a couple few years ago.
However I realized I'd be closing the door on an opportunity to contribute--in a very small way--to Disabilities/Inclusion Awareness.
So instead I said: absolutely.
I need to be completely upfront.
Totally transparent.
Brutally honest.
I have no idea what I'm doing.
I’m not qualified to write...especially on this topic.
I don't have an education and/or background in special needs and I had absolutely no experience in ministry prior to the last six months or so.
What I can share is my heart for these precious children and their families.
But that's all I've got.

Cassi - God clearly has decided to use you and bless you (along with your co-laborers at Good Shepherd!). Your two guest posts on my blog are turning out to be wildly popular with my readers. Thank you so much for saying "absolutely". - Amy
